Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) was an interesting artist. He defied convention, and refused to let himself be constrained by conventional shapes and forms. I am not particularly a fan of Jackson Pollock's work, but I found this web site and it is one of the most entertaining art sites that I have ever visited. Try it out! http://jacksonpollock.org/

Thank you sooo much...that was so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of these "pollocks" printed out on my bulletin board. It's nice when you can get the good colors.
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking alot about Pollock lately since that movie "My Kid Could Paint That" has been in the press. Interesting subject.
Thanks so much. This was lots of fun. I created a couple of Pollock-esque masterpieces and immediately hit space!!

BA - I haven't heard of this movie, I will look it up.
ReplyDeleteThere is a children's book called 'Olivia'. Olivia (who is a pig) goes to the museum, and is inspired (and baffled) by a Pollock painting. When she comes home, she recreates his work on the wall of her room (and gets in a lot of trouble!).
So glad you see you post this! Thanks for sharing :) Hm, and that movie, sounds interesting.

What a great website experience. I love it. I've seen quite a few Pollacks up close and I am always amazed at how many layers each piece has. The canvases must weigh a hundred pounds. Thanks for sharing his cool site
ReplyDeleteWell I could be amused all day with that.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I checked out that site and it certainly is a bit of fun!
ReplyDeleteFun site....I haven't heard of the movie either but sounds interesting.
