One of my favorite painters is American Impressionist Childe Hassam (1859-1935), and I think it is this beautiful painting that first captured my heart:
Fourth of July, Childe Hassam, 1916
This painting is in a private collection, but was on tour a few years ago.

I purchased this book on the art of Childe Hassam, and often take it out to enjoy his beautiful paintings, in particular his flag series. Click here to purchase on Amazon.
The painting on the cover is Allies Day, May 1917 (1917).
Happy 4th of July!
