Although it is hard to capture a good picture when facing the sun, the view that greeted me this morning inspired me to snap a quick iphone picture. It is quite cold today, and there is steam rising out of the pool water.
The back of our house faces east, so we are greeted by the morning light when looking out the master bedroom window (this exposure made good black out lining in the curtains a must!). This picture captures one of my favorite views; Alec Michaelides from LandPlus Associates created a truly beautiful landscape plan that is a pleasure to look at from every angle.

Beautiful Holly!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!

Just send us this picture every morning. My eye goes to the end of the far end of the grass across the pool; is that a stone step? I'm drawn there. I want to stand on that step and see what's beyond, then turn around to see the house.
ReplyDeleteI love the symmetry to this design. Just beautiful.

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and tranquil. Hope you are doing great - you must be delighted to be in the new house.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more of your house, but be careful if you ever want your house to be published. Magazines do not like it when a house has already been 'seen' in the blogs. I am sure it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! Love it! Looks like it has been there for years.

Holly, that is a beautiful view to wake up to!! I love the stone ballisters (is that what you call them?).
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to go back over many of your old posts as we are beginning our renovation this week. Nothing nearly as big as yours....but all things are relative aren't they? We got walled off (I have my kitchen, bedrooms, living room) from the part that is getting torn down and am just waiting on the illusive permit!
Also thought of you when I checked out Suzanne's great Christmas tree skirts from Ballard Designs.
Take your time getting settled...I know you'll have lots of things to share that will be worth waiting for!!!
All the best,
Elizabeth
Beautiful swimming pool, sadly, we are closing ours this week end. I will be taking my last plunge into almost frigid water.
