My sister lives in Washington, DC, and is an avid reader of the Washington Post Home and Garden section. She called me yesterday to tell me about a great article in the Post on Phoebe Howard, one of my favorite designers. Much to my delight, Phoebe named Things That Inspire as one of her favorite design blogs! A sincere thank you to Phoebe and all of her staff at Mrs. Howard; they truly elevate design to a whole new level.
Please check back on Sunday, July 19 - my 2 year 'blogiversary'. I will be doing my first ever giveaway - one of my lucky readers will win a wonderful and exclusive item designed and created by Phoebe Howard, not available in stores anywhere.

Congrats!! Phoebe is genius- that's such an honor! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! A few blogs I follow were mentioned, which just shows I'm in good company!
ReplyDeleteI don't know of another designer that can create such a peaceful and serene bedroom like Phoebe Howard.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you as well! Apparently the Washington Post knows a good thing too!
Atlanta designers and design bloggers rock!
ReplyDeleteJust read the article and kudos to you- you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I do agree with Mrs. Howard...yours is a favourite design stop for me, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd Phoebe...well, she's a genius isn't she?
* Wow, ESPECIALLY coming directly from Phenomenal Phoebe, that's an INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS compliment & great honour!!! (WOW AGAIN~~~ "Celebrate, celebrate, dance to the muuuusic!")~
ReplyDeleteAnd her bedroom?~~~ a dreeeaammmm space to be sure... cool, calm, collected, uncluttered and simply beautifully rich while being totally uncomplicated & elegant! (Can you tell I ADORE IT???)~~~
What a way to start the weekend!!!
Thanks,
Linda in AZ *
Thanks for the info. I think I love Phoebe as much as you, thanks to all your posts!! So many of her rooms are simply perfect, classic, and light but with a sense of depth and history from her wonderful selection of antiques and reproduction pieces and paintings. Just love her look.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for your giveaway! Did you know my blog was 3 years old in March? Crappy timing, so I did not celebrate. Now no one is bothering to read me anymore - I think there are just too many bloggers out there and I am not young, rich, fabulous or connected, so seem to be coming increasingly irrelevant!! Maybe I need a niche, but sadly the Calgary design scene is rather lame and I am just too busy working for a living to spend any more time on the blog. Really thinking of shelving it. But then I am so inspired by so many blogs that I keep on plugging away and I love to write. It is so nice that you are getting acknowledged - it is really validating! And I think you should "come out of the closet" too. ; )
xo and congrats, Terri
I have to be honest, whenever I hear about Pheobe Howard, I think of you! Her style, the fact that you'd been in her apartment... your aesthetic... anyway, loved the article in the Post too!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It's so exciting that Phoebe gave you a shout-out in the WP.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the giveaway -- Phoebe is one of my favorite designers working today.
Congrats on quite a compliment! You certainly deserve it for such a well written and interesting design blog. I agree with Terry - why don't you tell everyone who you are on your anniversary? Have a great weekend! Ann
ReplyDeleteOh what a great compliment to have Ms. Howard name your blog. It is also one of my favourites too.

What a treat. I have to agree with Phoebe! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet blessing for you, especially by one of your favorites.
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend.
more blessings to you!
CONGRATULATIONS !
ReplyDeleteThe minute I walked into Mrs. Howard's I thought of you. I'm not surprised that Phoebe loves your blog as much as you admire her work. Congratulations on all of your mentions in the WP. They are all well deserved.
ReplyDeleteHappy Bloggerversary !
xo

Congratulations! I love reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the mention! I love Phoebe's work too.

Congratulations! Reading your blog is such a treat!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on two years of blogging success! I am certain your success will expand beyond cyberspace! I can't think of a more appropriate give away for Things That Inspire than a book by Mrs. Howard herself! Pretty is how I would describe your blog. While the word pretty might not evoke the emotion of some of today's over used buzz words, it evokes a softness when spoken or read. Thanks for introducing us to the pretty things that inspire!

It doesn't get any better than Phoebe Howard!!! Her talent is amazing! And congratulations to you being chosen by her - what an honor! I enjoy reading your posts with my morning coffee.
ReplyDeleteI always love Phoebe's designs. I shop the Atlanta market but still haven't found time to go to her shops!! How lucky for you to interview her and see her apartment. Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again on your two year anniversary! You always inspire me! Phoebe H is wonderful and I would love her book!
ReplyDeleteThat book looks like a good one! I love reading your posts, it's always such an inspiration! :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and thanks for all of your wonderful posts. I discovered you blog after some of my favorite magazines shut down. I'm still trying to figure out proper blogging etiquette and have never commented. Your blog is a constant source of inspiration and I am grateful to you for the time you spend enlightening your readers.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite post was the one about Christopher Alexander's theory about light on two sides of a room. You might say I am a real estate junkie. I've moved my family three times in the past five years (all in the same neighborhood). I think the closing attorney is beginning to think I'm nuts -- especially because we have two children under three! Your post finally helped me realize what I was looking for in a house.
Many thanks,
Mary Bennett
Congrats! I just discovered your blog thanks to Phoebe's recommendation in the Washington Post. Can't wait to catch up on all of your great posts :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on Phoebe recognizing your FABULOUS blog!!!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve it! Phoebe is an incredibly talented designer and you must be thrilled that she thinks so much of you!
