A fabric launch, a beautiful house, and lovely flowers

I had the pleasure of attending a party to celebrate the launch of Timothy Corrigan’s new fabric line for Schumacher, at a private home that was on the Cathedral Tour of Homes in 2013. The house was decorated by the illustrious Robert Brown, and the setting was truly magnificent for the launch of Corrigan’s new collection.

The fabric launch….

Since I did not take pictures, I thought I would include a few from the Schumacher site.

A room featuring fabrics from the Timothy Corrigan for Schumacher line. For information on any of these fabrics, please contact Schumacher directly.

Timothy Corrigan is one of the designers of the 2014 Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Showhouse, which takes place April 26-May 18, 2014.  Organizers of the showhouse put this lovely instagram picture (@asoshowhouse) of a skirted table in the family room that was created out of one of  Corrigan’s new fabrics.  Trays with samples of the various fabrics and trims in the new line were available for guests to see.

The beautiful house….

I snapped a picture of the house where the event took place when I was walking my dog last summer – it was one of the first pictures I took when I signed up for instagram.  Although the winter landscape is more austere than this lush summer scene, the beauty of the house remains the same. It was renovated several times over the last few years, both times by Stan Dixon, but for different clients.  The recent renovation finished off the transformation of the exterior.

The lovely flowers…

If you follow me on pinterest or instagram, you know that I love beautiful flowers and always have fresh flowers in my house.  I was enthralled with the floral arrangements at the event, which were created by the talented Julie Coffin and team of Unique Floral Expressions.  The floral theme was hydrangeas and tulips – two of my favorite flowers – and the arrangements were so beautiful, unique, and detailed. I did not take any pictures, but immediately emailed the host to see if she could put me in touch with the florist.

Julie graciously sent me the candid shots that her team took of the arrangements, and she gave me permission to share them on my blog.

The simple elegance of this tulip arrangement in the home's entry immediately caught my eye.

An urn bursting with white tulips and hydrangea was also placed in the entry, in the curve of the stairs.

The homeowner’s beloved greyhound recently died, so florist Julie Coffin created this special touch to honor him.

These bunches of exuberant hydrangeas make me long for spring.  These arrangements were in the solarium.

This was Julie’s favorite arrangement.  It is so sculptural and looked beautiful with the décor.

This arrangement on the mantel was created impromptu on site when the flowers were being installed.  This picture was taken in the afternoon, and shows the incredible beauty of the arrangement (it was my favorite).  Imagine how it looked at night with the candles lit. It was simply breathtaking.

A view from the other side.  So beautiful!

Timothy recently published a book An Invitation to Chateau du Grand-Lucé: Decorating a Great French Country House, about the multi-year process of renovating his grand chateau in France.  The book can be seen on Amazon here.

Lots of ground covered in this post, but it was an inspirational evening!

Please! I see in the latest issue of Veranda that Furlow Gatewood of Americus Georgia is the subject of a book coming out next month. Could you give us some previews of his place, since you have published his hudrangea-lined path before? Thanks

  8. Holly,
How fun!!! I love home tours and it's so fun to get a glimpse inside of ones in other towns. I'm sure Atlanta is one of the absolute best in the country! Those flower arrangements are just stunning. Especially the one with the tulips and hydrangeas on the mantel. WOW!!!!

We have 2 homes on our upcoming Rye house tour that have been in House Beautiful within the past year. I'll have to try and get some photos to share with everyone.

    Happy Tuesday!
    xoxo Elizabeth
